Red and Smith to Work Together.

Arthur 'Red' Cover’s has announced that Wendy Smith will be working with him to address village issues. "I'll be concentrating on social issues," stated Red. "Wendy will be concentrating on environmental issues and animal welfare." Lucky villagers can now look forward to a combination of the looney left and the animal rights fringe. Since Wendy is a known disciple of Nigel 'Barking Mad' Barksley, we can expect all sorts of silly twitterings and chirpings. Evidently Puckering really is going to the dogs.

Who's Home?

Puckering still seems infatuated with its mystery visitor, though frankly the mystery seems to be why anyone would move here. Is there anyone famous who you'd really like as a neighbour? Get a life oh ye garden gate gossips and back wall talkers!

Last Word from the Editor

It is with very little regret that I announce that this will be my last issue of the Gazette. It will be a relief to go someplace where something newsworthy might one day happen. Puckering is like an Agatha Christie village on sleeping draughts. The biggest news of the past year was a drug operation that moved from 'Caribbean Drug Ring Infiltrates Village' to 'Skinny Roach left in Some-one's Room.'  Well here's some real news--I quit!
